You can also use the cheap (or old ) plastic type cutting boards, to make the bushes from ,the older thicker style is best at least 12 mm , simply cut into small blocks and drill a 1/4 " hole through the middle ,stack a few on your mandrel and turn round as big as the material will allow , then with a skew you can cut them to tapers , one thing to always do is with the sharp point of a skew gently break the bond just past the end of the blank you have ca'd , this stops the ca cracking up the blank when you try to remove it , I usually do this before finish sanding so I have a clean end to sand to Cheers ~ John

I used some plastic chopping boards SIL gave us - different colours works a treat, best present she ever gave us (doubt whether she realises what I used them for though).

I'd rather use wood for a chopping board
