Co workers gift
Christmas gift for my engineer and brakeman.
Both are kits from WoodCraft, the Princeton Platinum.
And both are Acrylester blanks, the one on the left is Ablone, the right one is Molten Metal.

Very nice, I like these pens. As John says they really let the blank do the talking. Very clean looking kit.

John,
Not all that up to date with Aussie railroading terms, but if it is anything like the British, then yes, a brakeman is the “guard”/
Brakeman, switchman, or assistant conductor, all the same union craft here.
Rank by authority in a US railroad crew is from bottom to top,
Brakeman, switchman or assistant conductor, rides the shoving movements, acts as the second man for ground work, lines switches and performs duties as directed by the conductor.
Engineer, (driver), responsible for the locomotive, and once the train is assembled, how the train is handled, that all hazardous material is in the correct placement in the train.
Conductor…directs the entire train, decides all movements, is responsible for both the brakeman and engineer performing their duties, and shares joint responsibility with the engineer that the train is in compliance with all the hazardous material rules and all Federal regulations.
Basically is the captain of the crew.
Both of these guys have been my crew for a few years, we can work all day with almost no verbal communication; we know each other that well.
Ya gotta trust the guys you work with, after all, when we are shoving cars, and I am 100 cars away from my engineer and he is going backwards, he better be able to trust me to keep my eyes open and not run him into anything.

Outstanding!
Ed ... when I first saw the pre-production pics of the Princeton I wasn't too sure about the kit.
After doing a 1/2 dozen of them I can say I really like the kit (except the roller on the clip).
My favorite is the abalone (woodcraft blank?) it stand up and shouts!
