Nice pen Peter good to see the contrasting colours. did the branch have many surface cracks.

There was cracking in fact the blanks because of the branch size I had to either accept them or trash the blank.The shape was determined by the splits that fortunately cut out.The sight of a piece completely flying off to follow the faults is daunting.
The sapwood is a cream lightly figured delight.Glad I perservered with it it came out the other end complete.
