For my molds I use pieces of teflon cut to the size I want to make. Then use some ca glue to glue them together. Be sure to scuff the glue area up a bit with so 150 grit. Use some tape to hold it while the glue sets up. When you are ready to use them make sure that you use a mold release so it doesnt stick....being it is teflon it shouldnt but it has happened to me before. No need to buy an expensive mold release. Meguires mirror glaze works very well and can be bought at any auto parts store. Hope this helps and good luck.

For PVC tubing, I used to:

    • cut the pipe to suitable lengths.
    • drill a grid of holes in a square of MDF with a spade-bit the same size as the tubes
    • screw another piece of MDF to the first
    • glue tubes in holes with just a dob of hot-melt glue

After the resin went off, I unscrewed the MDF backer and removed it, then gently tapped the tubes through the holes to break the hot-melt glue.

But I've found it easier to simply make my moulds out of aluminium foil!

Basically, grab a pen-blank of the size that you want to make and a sheet of alum. foil. Double the foil over once or twice for extra strength and then simply fold it around the pen-blank to make a mould. I also made a wooden tray to hold a bunch (well... 10 ) of these foil moulds fairly snugly, so the sides & bottom don't "bow out" during the pour.

Once the resin sets it's a bit like unwrapping easter eggs. Foil scraps everywhere... After all , it doesn't really matter if the blank is "crinkly" or has flecks of foil stuck to it... it'll all be turned away anyway.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
