Export the original after you have cropped etc., to the desktop or a folder on it if you have several pics. Double click on a picture and it will open in Preview. Top left of the screen is Tools. In it you can resize, add comments etc. Pick the picture size allowed and follow the commands to rename. Easy.

Thanks Pete, I will give it a try.

Ok, I have been using That to set the size of my pics for a while now, I just thought you were talking about something different.
My trouble is, I resize all my photos to 1000 pixels on the long side, this suits a photography forum I am a member of, I save them to a thumb drive, and upload to the internet from there.
When I double click on the photo and bring up the image settings screen, I have the option to pick a size for the photo, for the photo above I chose "medium". When looking at it now on my screen, it is not much bigger than a thumbnail, though some people have told me it looks OK on their computer screen.
If I choose "large" as I did in the photo below, it looks great on my screen, and loads instantly, but I have been told its too big on other peoples screens and they have to scroll to see the whole pen.

So what I do now is, I resize any pics I want to upload onto this forum to the approved 800x600 and choose "large".
The result is a photo that looks like this,

This is apparently good for the majority of people viewing, a bit on the small side for my liking, but I can live with it.
The other option would be not to post my pics anymore, but I don't want to go down that road.Brad.

Don't stop posting!!! Although it is more work you could resize 2 versions to use as the forum you are on likes. The bigger one for the photography forums and the smaller for this type. Not so bad if it just occasionally but a pain if you post lots of images.

This original photo is 3808 X 22756 - 2.95
Second photo resized to 640 X 480 using Image Resizer for Windows.
Looks like this site automatically resizes both photos to approx 640 X 463.
