Tiger Myrtle
Here's a couple of Sierra's in Tiger Myrtle. I failed to turn the nib ends down enough ( Just a smidgeon anyway) to allow for the layers of CA that cover my bushings. How do you guys remove the CA from your bushings ?. The finish is now A1. Still lots to learn for me. Thanks again guys.

Nicely done, blanks have outstanding character. I turn between centres and use the Dletin bushes for CA, pm Fred--BigShed, he can make them up. Amos

Very nice looking pens. I have some Tiger Myrtle in the shed I need to try. That gives me all the more reason the do that.
I turn my blanks down on the bushes until they are about 0.2mm oversize. I then remove them and put them between centres to ensure they are running true after I take the last bit off. I use a vernier to measure them. I take them out from the centres, wipe some WD40 on the centres and then put the blank back in again. This stops the CA from sticking to the metal. If you don't put too much CA over the ends you won't have hardly any on the centres anyway. If you do, just run a sharp knife around near the end of the blank and gently break the excess off.Dallas

Nice work, do as Amos said and you will see a big improvement in the fit off. I use Big shed between centre stuff and it is A1.
Nice stick of tiger myrtle BTW

Thanks for the advise & compliments everyone. I bought a nice, large pen case to store all the "Keepers" in, and I can really notice the huge improvement in my pens in just over a month.

Myrtle
In all forms has the pulling power to standout in a crowd. It does respond so well to a CA finish rendering it almost transparent. Your two pens are good examples well made.

Hi Pariss
Nice work! I love that Tiger Myrtle.
If your constantly using CA as a finish, sand a set of bushings down by 0.1 or 0.2mm in diameter. That way when the CA finish is on it will be the right diameter.
I use a knife to cut 1mm over the bushings to break the CA finish over the bushings.
Thanks for sharing.
