I don't agree with your conclusion that they are inferior. I have both the PSI and Timberbits kits and can't see any difference in the plating. As for the reversed bolt action, to me it doesn't matter much, as for me the gun is still upside down for the bolt action anyway. I never could understand why PSI fixed the bolt but not the clip.

Hi Betty, you have to realise that looking at my photo is a bit like looking at the pen with a magnifying glass under strong lighting, you will see every scratch, speck and fly's footprint.
You will not see such detail with the naked eye.
I am sure if I was to post a similar picture of a PSI pen you will see imperfections as well.
As to the quality of the pen kit, I will not sell any pen that I am not prepared to stand behind. I will tell you that this pen is for sale in my shop alongside the other 20 or so pens in my display.
I know that David (Timberbits) stands behind his products, so I also feel confident because of that.
I do have it priced a bit cheaper than what I sold the PSI bolt action pens for, but this lower price reflects the cheaper base price of the kit, as you are probably aware the Timberbits kit is almost half the price, so I will pass on this reduction to my customers.
As I said earlier, I dont have any of the PSI pens anymore, so I cant do a direct comparison. But they do look and feel like they are quite good quality.
And as I also said earlier, the only thing I can find on the pen that I do have any reservations about is the bend on the clip, I feel it could be made a bit stronger. This is not the only pen kit where I think the clip could be made stronger, there are others as well, from a variety of suppliers.
The best test for any pen is to make one and use it for yourself for a while, you will soon get a feel if you like it or not.Brad.
