First time Chiyogami Paper Castings
Was a wet weekend last weekend, so the Cricket was cancelled. Stayed home and had fun doing some casting. Raced to the art shop to get some Chiyogami Paper and to Bunnings to get some Clear Casting Resin.
Had lots of fun experimenting with the whole process, nearly as much fun as making the pen.
Hope you like it as much as my wife, I finished about 5 pens and this was the only one I had left, the others all went missing.

Very well done David
That pen looks really special, the 4 that went missing must have looked even better than this one, they must really have been something.

Very Cool!
Never ceases to amaze me what different people think of and do with pens.

They look very good. Well done.
You could probably do the same with this sort of paper as well - have a look at the images tab on the search results

Its sold in some expensive paper and book shops.

If it helps its called "Diggers clear casting resin" comes in a 500 ml tin ,and don't forget the catalist to activate it . about $20 dollars most times, but will do a lot of pens if using saver molds . Use about 1 -1/2 %
2 drops per 100 drops of Resin ,too much and it will gel very quickly and make a more brittle blank, too little and it takes forever to cure enjoy the casting fun to come hehe, cheers ~ JohnG'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

I dropped into my local Dollar Shop today. Most things are actually $2.80 . They usually stock a good range of patterns in Yuzen/Chiyogami papers (about 8 to 20 mixed sheets per pack) but today the choice was limited to geometric patterns, anime and Miffy. Worth a look if there is one near you though. Daiso is probably the best known chain.
A lot cheaper than Art Supplies. Eckersels charge about $3.25 per sheet.

Those pens look great David .
BTW you can marble paper very simply - it can be done with marbling kits that can be purchased from art supply shops, or using oil based paints. Both ways done on trays of water, swirls the colour medium and lay paper (or fabric) onto the surface and the paper, or fabric, picks up the colour ... great fun and quite easy. I'm sure there would be lots of how to do's on the internet.
