Beautiful pen. Is that Afzelia Burl usually that colour? I got one blank of that timber as a freebie in an order from William Woodwrite, which I am yet to turn, but looking at it would not expect it to finish that pale.

I've never seen afzelia burl that colour before. If I had to guess at it, my guess would be buckeye burl. Nice pen though, whatever it may be.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Les
Afzelia Burl is like the man for all seasons it sure comes in one hundred colours and shades.
This pen is understated , the more you look the more you see, being subtle it will appeal as understated excellence.
A buyer will look at the outrageous Amboyna and then if they are of a mind will jump at this one much as the guy with the watch with two thousand ( exaggeration) dials wings and extras will seek out the eye popping 2 carat diamond to show. Me I care for both the pen examples but I do not seek out buyers, sometimes they come to me.
Recently made gifts for different reasons sales followed with reluctance from me, like parting with the part of me that collects, sometimes it hurts.
This pen of Afzelia has class.
Take care Peter.

I recently got an Afzalia burl from Wm Woodrite too. Here is a pic of the pen which went to California for a pen swap. It was a nice pen and a color I hadn.t seen before.
