Too small?
Hey all long time no post.
Here is my problem, normally the most major problem I have is the hole I drill being too big for the tube therefore making the blank explode when I turn it but my issue at the moment is I have drilled three wooden blanks for gentleman pens and I can't get the tubes in.
What the hell? I am pretty confident I wouldn't have this issue with acrylics but I can't find any bloody acrylics big enough for the gentlemans pens.
Any ideas?

If the drill is not the right size the tube won't fit but a round rasp and a little filing would help. Are you using metric bits or imperial? Some metric equiv drills may be a bit smaller or larger than the size recommended if they use an imperial bit. Good luck with it

It sometimes happens that when using the correct size drills ,that the heat generated by drilling the material can shrink slightly when cooling ,as suggested a rat tail file or rasp, will usually open out the hole sufficiently for the tube to slide in ,epoxy bonds or araldite is best for these glueups,as CA can soften during sanding and polishing and not support the thin shell you are working with .Cheers ~ John
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Reminds me of the problem I always have with Dayacom Americana pens. Hole bored with 11/32 inch bit, and it is always too small. Much use of rat tailed file and bad language. Might try EB size (23/64) next time.

I take a 6" (150mm) long dowel and saw a slot in it about 2" (50mm) long, chuck it in my drill, wrap a short strip of sandpaper to create a single flap sander, and stick it in the blank to sand until the tube fits.
