    Default Tried something different

Playing around with different ideas for .308 bullet pens today.

Wanted to make a top by using 2 cases but using a Euro clip and finial.

Wasn't that keen on a Euro finial straight on the primer end, so decided to turn a bit off the primer end to match the diameter of the Euro clip and finial.

I think it came up quite well, particularly like the way the finial and the nib match in colour, what do others think?

Bottom part is a 308B kit, blank is my Khaki one and Euro clip and finial are Bright Copper.

looks great Fred. I haven't seen it done before with reversing the casing. I like the blank colour - it matches the others really well.

Fred I think that is one of the best bullet pens I have ever seen, the combination of colours is exceptional, the khaki blank makes it look real Army like.

Thanks Greg, yes the Khaki works well with the brass.

I bought some Bright Copper and Satin Copper European kits from Bear Tooth, they are Berea ones and quite good quality too.
For the .223, .308 and .30-06 I always use the Cross or slimline.

Been making a few .300 Win Mag with Parker/Cigar transmissions lately though.

    Hey Fred,

    I like that a lot,

I Would really like it betterer if it could be done with a Parker style Refill, have you been looking into that style at all ??

Nicely done. BTW, here in the States, khaki is a shade of tan. What you have on the pen we call OD (olive drab) or the color of WWII US Army uniforms. Just goes to show that while we may be allied, we are separated by a "common" language.

Yes I have Mark, but at this stage I have only used them on .300 Win Mag casings.

It would increase the cost and complexity a fair bit.

Why do you prefer the Parker style?

Well, now you come to mention it, we may not be that different after all as I think that's what this colour is called here too.

May have to rename that blank.
