Default Trying my new light box out

Just put together a simple light box that simplicity helped me with
I’ve put inside the light box 5 designer twist pens that I made
Brown Mallee Burl is on a 24kt ( look )
Wenge Is on a satin kit
The purple one is on a chrome kit
Purple and gold is on a 24kt (look )
Dark Blue with Black Lines is on a chrome
I don’t mind this pen kit as i find them very easy to twist as I have RA as my hands get quite bad at times,
I am thinking of doing a segmented pen , using a Designer Twist Kit
Any feedback welcome on this typic
    Cheers Sally

Fit and finish on your pens look good. The Wenge pen the nicest to my eyes.

Would you mind stopping back and take a few pictures of your light box setup? It will help others finding this thread making their own.

e your pens and pics. I found by removing all covering on my open light box made from conduit it enabled me to get more oomph in my pics. Freezing here this morning I neglected to say the decorations IMHO really offset the colours and stabilise the design so well.

I have made segmented pens with offcuts of acrylic and the look pretty good if you choose the right colours of the offcuts, this will work with any product you make pens out of.

Looks like you have had plenty of practice and got the turning down pat now. They all look good.
I would like to see your light box setup too.

Here are some pics of the light box that some of you wanted to see .
It was very easy to build , as you can see by my pics .
Cost under $10 AU which was great

Very effective for the price. Does your $10 include the light?
By the shadow under the pens I assume you are only using the overhead light and no others, is that right? Is your backdrop sheet white or a pale grey?

    Hi Dallas,
The Card for the light box was just white card from Office works,

The lights were these from Bunnings

I think they were ticked price of $7 au.
But with my power pass discount they were $5 each,
    So really happy with that.

Sally’s last shots were taken only with the one light above, but I have brought some more of those lights, so the next shots I will go from hubby, to mobile light stand thingy guy[emoji6].
So hopefully that gets rid of the shadows.

So really the price is now $20 Au for the box if we use three lights.

    Cheers Matt.

We got the lights from Bunnings in Box hill Melbourne.
They were in the section near the torches in electrical.

Not sure how long or even if there still available?
I think we brought them on 24 June.

Thanks Sally. That clears it up. I have one of those pop up light tents and light set (compact fluorescent days) that I bought online ages ago but your box is just as effective and a bunch cheaper.

LED's are so cheap nowadays with such good light. I see that it must be installed by an Electrician. Did you get one to plug it in for you

1 - Wenge pen definitely my favourite

2 - That light box is the bodgiest POC I've ever seen! But effective!

I dabble a bit in photography so I learn from looking at others photos. I would try a higher aperture to get the focus sharper on the outer edges of the subjects.

If you look at the nib/tip of the wenge pen it is a bit blurry as is the top of the purple on gold. By adjusting the aperture to a higher F value will increase the focus area.

    Cheers
