Default tube NOT showing through - thank goodness!

    Well,

As advised previously, I threw gobs and gobs on pigment into this blank. So much went in, that if I were to value this blank, I think it's be 2 - 3x more expensive than the ones I normally make .

Also made black epoxy again and didn't spin the tube in the blank, which I think was part of the problem as well. As you should be able to see, the result is great, not a single bit of tube showing through. I also did the best fit of just about any pen I've made on this one. Overall, this is one of the best pens I've made so far I think.

Thanks to James for the advice on pigments, although at that rate of consumption, I'm not sure I'll be able afford any more pearlex blanks.

Russell, that looks great. Nice color also.
It's too bad shipping cost so much for you. There are so many places to get pigments over here that are much less costly than Pearl-X.

    That looks sharp ..
It might be a bit more costly than you had planned, but I'll bet you could
get a bit more money than you originally thought, too.

I could have if I hadn't already quoted the person on the job. Mind you, she tried to give me more money than I asked for, but I pretty much stuck to my original quote.

Pricing on any new pearlex blanks on my webs ite will be going up though, although they'll still be cheaper than what I see most others selling custom blanks for.

    Thanks David,

And while it may be my best, I've still got a long way to go.
