Two uglies make Half a pen!
Well these two met up this morning, and while the better halves chatted inside they were working really hard outside, and managed 1/2 a closed end pen!. First up is Graham "Sundowner" the other is Amos "Wooden Ink". Was great meeting up with Graham, he has been a great contibutor to "Pens for the Troops", and also with his wife Jenny and dog "Jack". But I don't see any sawdust on either of them? Were you giving the tinny elbow a workout instead??

Hmmm ! If it takes one man ,one day, to make one pen ! How long will it take for two "men" to make half a pen ? hehe! in the end its not always the result, but the enjoyment of the process !
G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

If you get enough turners gathered in one place (eg. at Tooradin ) you may be lucky and see a simple spindle turned to completion. However, it's almost guaranteed that you'll see enough hot air to float the Hindenberg... and possibly the Graf Zeppelin as well!
If it makes you feel better, it's a known scientific fact that it's just how the world works. The proof goes like this:
- 'Tis a well known fact that production (P) is inversely proportional to the mass of turners (Mt) in any given shed.
P::1/Mt
- As the mass of turners (Mt) increases, the social co-efficient (SI) also increases at a logarithmic rate.
Mt::logSI
- The social co-efficient also determines the proportion of production (P) to information, news & gossip (Ing) for any given amount of Turning Time. (Tt)
Tt::P/NG
- Substituting for P from formula 1 into formula 3, we arrive at:
Tt::(1/Mt)/Ing
- Simplifying formula 4:
Tt::Ing/Mt
- Substituting for Mt from formula 2 into formula 5, we arrive at:
Tt::Ing/logSI
- Simplifying formula 6:
logSITt::Ing
There ya have it Amos... proof that get enough turners in one place and logSITt::Ing happens.
