Ukrainian Bog Oak
This was my very first Atrax pen I made. Also the first time I had turned Ukrainian Bog Oak as well. Really like that the Atrax is a non posting pen. Makes the finished pen have the traditional classic look. 20210127_095030_1611705390165.jpg20210127_094947_1611705348920.jpg20210121_201757_1611225293419.jpg

Good looking pen. What finish did you use?

Pete I use Mercury flexible CA thin and medium as a finish. 2 thin, 3 medium, 2 thin in that order. With the bog oak I wet sand to 1200 grit then I use Zona paper to polish. I have a 60 x loupe that I look at the finish with. If happy I then use Mirka Polarshine to go back and buff.FB_IMG_1612603288163.jpg

Such a beautiful timber; and choosing an unadorned pen mechanism really helps emphasise it!
