Unidentified
Can any one help me here I bought this piece of timber at the last sydney woodwork and timber show and I have not been able to identify what it is.Thanks in advance Steve

Has the appearance of Hairy Oak to me.

At a guess, 2nd pic looks like hairy oak.

Looks like 2 species? The first a burl - red mallee/red morrel/red collabah. The second looks like Hairy Oak, but could be WA Sheoak or Rose Sheoak if the rays are more dark red/brown in lieu of the dark brown/black of Hairy Oak

Thanks A lot Neil yeah the first piece was not supposed to be in there I put the wrong one in first and I could not delete it . The piece I wanted to know is the second piece the rays are black so it must be as you have said Hairy Oak. Thanks again mate
