Default Wedding Sets and a new timber

The photos show two sets of wedding pens (Pristinas) ordered by a client. One set is in American Cherry and the other is in Australian Jarrah. The timbers and pen types were selected by the client as gifts for a wedding in America.

The other 2 photos are of a Cigar Pen I made from a limb of a tree given to me by Gawdelpus. Not sure what the timber is. I have also made a pen stand from the offcut I used to make these pens. It is more of a yellow colour as I could keep the outer rings of timber and has a beautiful red centre to it.

great sets mate, i am sure the client will be more than happy with them

the cigar came up pretty good as well, a knot or a blemish in the wood always adds a talking point and some character

    good job

Greg, the wedding couple will love them, nice work on them. Was the Jarrah hard to turn? Amos

    Thanks all.

    Amos
jarrah is not hard to turn. It tends to have a broad grain if that is the right description in that when you turn it down it looks like it has small cracks running along the grain. CA fills them and brings it back to a full wood look. I much prefer Blackbutt, Banksia or She Oak for appearance
