    Wink This Weeks Challenge

Apart from my run of the mill pens this week I got to do a customer challenge He wanted wooden nib end ( in this case beefwood ) and some cast sand from a sand mining company on Stradbroke Isl. Also wanted a motorbike valve cover as a finial . I tried rolling the glue coated tube in sand with little success , then I tried sprinkling the sand onto the glued tube , not a lot better ,in the end I called on Neil with the problem and this is the result , we basically poured sand and thin CA into a plastic conduit bit by bit till it was full . I turned it today on my metal lathe with a carbide tip, sanded and the a CA finish , I hope he likes it ,if not it will go in my collection and I won't have to make the other 2 to go with it
    Cheers ~ John
