If you think you require longer tubes (and I've no idea if it's warranted) some of the better hobby shops sell brass tube in what seems to be the same diameters as pen tubes. Actually my local hardware does as well

Does nobody read my posts? See post three for how I did this for a 6'6" fellow. Also, with all due respect, the Statesman is not heavier than an Emperor or a Majestic. I've weighed them all on very accurate digital scales. The Majestic is the heaviest I've ever come across and they are considerably cheaper than the Emperor. I think they are available from Penn State Industries.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

LOL, my sincere apologies. Blame it on Alzheimers or just an overworked mind. Having just re-read your post, I do remember it now, and that's pretty obvious when you see it now. I just need to order extra tubes then.
So some of you guys in the US. Can I get your to dehydrate some of those kits so you can send it to me at letter rates, and I'll just add water to reconstitute it when it arrives here? Thanks.

Here's another tip, Russell, for what it's worth. When I buy the premium kits, or even the Sierras and stuff for that matter, I always order at least four, and sometimes as many as six, extra sets of tubes. This is so if I have a blowout or am just not thrilled with the outcome for some reason, I don't have to turn all the wood off to salvage the tubes. Since tube sets are only about fifty cents, I figure it's money well spent. I have an entire box of finished blanks that, for whatever reason, just never got assembled because I didn't like them for some reason. The more expensive the kit, the pickier I get.
Oh, and the pocket comment was dead on. These longer pens will not fit in a standard shirt pocket. However, kits like the Emperor and the Majestic are really desk pens due to their weight, so I figured it didn't matter. Besides, the customer is always right. When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Hehe ! Cisco, I am sure your "rejects" are worthy of any pen that they found to be a part of, and I would agree that cutting a tube to make a longer pen is not that wise, could change the dynamics of the material in use, e.g glue to wood to tube ,if the wood warped ,as is possible the tube tends to keep it in a line at least, I can see a bent pen is possible if not fully supported. Also I decided to dismantle some of my pens made a few months ago to improve the finish on them, even though the tubes were properly glued some of them just came out of the wood with the impact of driving the fittings out , so reglued but lesson learnt I actually put a pen together yesterdau with no glue at all, didn't have the right drills ,so drilled the blanks with the Tube size drills and was able to just press the tubes in ,it was acrylic,so no fear of warpage or expansion contraction problems . Cheers

hehe! I suspect most "penners" would prefer their pens not to come back ,unlike some thing you might throw away and it comes back to "bite" you ! luckily for me all the ones I threw away ,stayed thrown away lol.

russell, have you thought of doing a large gents pen but closed end. that way you could possibly get away with 1-1 1/2 inch longer.

I have thought of closed end, but never tried closed end before. Not sure how easy it is to acquire the required gear here. As for a large Gents, problem with availability in Aus, and our dollar continues to slide into an ever deepening pit. Not long as we'll need to multiply US prices by 4 to get anything over here .
