wilga
i drilled this piece of wilga to 7mm and because it was such a small piece, that was given to me i had very little choice on how to drill it .
the sap wood was starting to let go just slightly so some thin CA fixed that , and i fitted it up with tubes to suit a BT401 kit .
now its finished i love it and wish i had drilled it for a more up market kit.
the finish straight of the skew was good enough to just oil and leave it at that but i gave it a light sand 3 coats of thin CA then buffed it with steel wool and gave it a lick of wax.
it has a real nice silky feel to it and not plasticky ( new word ).
the sap wood on this stuff could pass for crows ash in look and feel .
going to be hard to part with this one ,its one of those pens that just feels good to handle .'If the enemy is in range, so are you.'

Hey Texx,
Beautiful job, great choice of kit and finish, if you have to let it go I can PM my address, its a shame that we can't see into the future and see what we are going to get (before we drill a Blank), you have done a great job

Wilga sure is nice to work with but the smell can be offputting. Nice pen!

Real feeling in the simple lines of your Wilga Pen, love it, we are so so fortunate to have such lovely timbers.
By the way were you affected by the floods recently.
Will look for more Aussie beaut pens from you.
Regards Peter.
