    Default Woodturner s Pen

Here is the third laser cut kit I have done.

Sierra Gold dressed in a laser cut kit consist of Metallic silver acryllic, metallic brass acryllic, coccobolo and curly maple.
The blank is sanded to 600 grit before it is given 5 layers of CA.

    Thanks for looking and comments.

Very nice looking pen. Do you glue the cut pieces in place directly onto a brass tube?

The instruction says: Lay all the pieces on sheet og white paper. Put the brass tube inside the pen blank (do not glue). Put on all the pieces and fasten them with small rubber band (following the kit). Take out the brass tube and then take on thin CA and set aside to cure. When CA is cured sheck if the brass tube go inside the blank easy, if not wrap a piece of 100 grit sandpaper round a 8 mm dowel and sand until the brass tube go inn. Now it is time to glue, use 5 minutes epoxy - do not use polyuretan glue, that will squeeze out the pieces.

Thanks for that. I guess the purpose of the CA is just so the epoxy has something to hold onto with a bit of texture
