Churchill Xcut Black Palm
Sorry folks, Mobil Man made me do it!, his asking about Shellawax under the CA, so I thought I would give it a go without Shellawax, but I did use two coats of BLO and it brought out the grain vividly(Cisco's idea blame him!) And I did gouge out a piece so after starting-why? because the brass nut that locks in the bushings was not done up, (that was Mobil Man's fault because I was thinking ahead of the finishing process and almost finished before starting!). I remembered Les' advice and or was it Neil? and Stabilized very frequently as I got close to the finish. Finish is many coats of CA over the initial 2 coats over BLO.
Hope you like it. AmosGood, better, best, never let it rest;

Now that is a leopard pen! The larger diameter kit really lets that timber shine. Very nicely done, Amos. Very nicely done indeed. That is a visually striking pen that will get attention everywhere. Very nice photography too.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Magnificent work Amos.
The palm almost looks like a manufactured blank.
Congratulations on getting three great pens from such a difficult timber.

Amos, yet another lovely example of cross cut Black Palm. Have you snuck into a yard and done some selective pruning? As always you quality of work is outstanding. A man who works with his hands is a laborer. A man who works with his hands and mind is a craftsman, but a man who works with his hands, mind and heart is an artist. Ladies and gentleman, in Amos, we have a true artist, please take the time like i have and view his web site and see the artistry for yourself.

Man, talk about a glutton for punishment, but those turned out class 'A'. Sorry, Didn't mean ta be a trouble maker. But being Shellawax is 'shellac with carnuba/bees wax, ya got me to wondering. Thought that the heat from CA would soften the wax altho, in turn, the heat from buffing helps set up the Shellawax. And like you say, I've had to make sure the clip was placed in a certain position when assembling. Sometime that clip could stand to be just a little wider.

Beautiful Amos.
I Suppose it's your fault that it's such a great pen?
