Haven't used one or even seen them in the flesh, but believe that it is really only suitable for single pass per gap, be it with a dado blade, router bit or whatever.

It would work for narrow fingers with a flat topped saw blade, provided that you were happy to set your gap width to the blade kerf width. Even if you could offset the indexing pin without compromising positioning accuraccy to make a second cut for a wider gap, I suspect that there is a significant chance that the blade might flex if overlapping into the existing gap, causing uneven gap width or gaps with edges that are not square to the end. Since each gap is indexed from the one next to it rather than absolutely referenced from an edge of the board, once one gap is not perfect, the rest of the cuts on that end would also not be perfect, and fitting up would be a nightmare.

If a decent dado set is not a possibility, then consider using the jig with a router table with a mitre slot. Then you can select from a range of router bits to suit various gap widths, and the jig can be tuned quickly to suit the gap width being used.

It will allow you use any width blade from 1/8" (3.2mm) and up but only in single passes.

Seriously though, if you don't have a router table then I suggest you invest in a decent box cutting set for your table saw.

I bought the Freud version and I have the Oshlun dad set but the box set has no 'bat ears' to worry about. Dedicated 1/4" or 3/8" fingers though.
