Incra Fence for table saw/router table
Ok so I have a 10" Carbatec contractors saw, the fence drives me insane as I have to set it a few mm out as when I lock it down it moves a few mm to its final place. I also am about to start building a router table which may be built into my saws wing, this brings me to my question,
A - is it possible to install an Incra fence system that will act as both a fence for my saw and a fence for my router table?
B - is it worth doing?
cheers

Incra has exactly that fence. The only downside is that you need to keep moving it to either the router position or to the table saw position.

Just mount the RT on the right. Good for doing big routing like tabletops or long things You can use the rest of the table to support them.
Leave the main cross bar in place and it reaches both positions.... pix below.
If you want to move it into two positions and retain exact alignment, order another bolt kit: Part 14: or specifically four of Part 17: http://www.incrementaltools.com/PART...pc-tslssys.htm This will let you move the big cross bar without fooling with all your settings.

Yes my router table would go on the right but I don't have the room to be able to bring the fence all the way along, I would have to flip the fence when using the router table which brings up a couple of issues.
1. Is it a pain to remove and flip around?
2. If I am working on something that needs me to use the table saw and router table at the same time this would be a PITA.

Dazm, with the little alignment bolts, flipping it is trivial. It is also trivial to lift the whole cross brace off for sheet work or using the table as a work surface.
The black bolts at the end just unwind and the brace just lifts off. The second kit I've highlighted allows you to move, place and replace the assembly with absolute accuracy every time. Doing RT and TS work at the same time is exactly what I do. Left, right, cut, edge, blah..... All instant, quick and absolutely repeatable.
Yes, that's my impoverished workshop. The tablesaw is a basic unit, very effective, the router table is a Kreg plate with a triton TRA001.
This setup let's me make some pretty nice stuff
The Incra TSLS is an absolutely fantastic bit of gear. Truly. It was second hand off a fellow forum member

I think I'm going to go with a dedicated router table, I just can't decide whether the Incra LS17 Super system with wonder fence is overkill or not
I want to do dovetails and box joints which I was going to buy a Leigh or Gifkins for so I'm thinking, for the same price as the Leigh I can get the LS17, just worried it will be too hard to setup and use and therefore only get used as a basic router fence in which case it would be HUGE overkill.

I use to have the same contracter saw and battled with your same issues. I did a year of research looking at valid options.
in the end i bit the bullet and brought a proper table saw. Best thing I ever did for my mancave.
you can put lipstick on a pig but you will still always have a pig

Hi Dazm
Over the 11 years we have been selling the Incra systems, the overwhelming majority of sales have been for the Super Systems, the additional features make it well worthwhile e.g. Offset split fence halves for edge jointing, hi-rise fence caps for vertical panel raising / lock mitre joints etc. and of course the safety and convenience of through the fence dust collection. Remember the Incra system is a really accurate and versatile fence system the also produces dovetails, box joints and heaps of other joinery.
Replacing the standard fence on just about any table saw with an Incra is common from Triton Workcentres to SawStop professionals we've seen them all. Space is usually three major factor in choosing the configuration. That's why we suggest talking to us before ordering just to make sure you have the 'best fit' for your needs.
Regards
Grahame

Everything Grahame says is spot on.
I would like to say, however, is that Incra (and sellers) have VASTLY underplayed how incredible this system is. The books and manuals say one can do this-and-that, but the only real videos showing this capability are 35 years old and shot on a potato-powered microwave oven. Some serious updating needs to be done.
If a reseller could produce a series of 10 videos showing each capacity clearly - demonstrating how a thing is done - it would sell a lot more.
This would also eliminate all the naysayers.
I love my incra. I use it every day, but I still feel I'm only getting 1% of the potential use out of it.
