Where is my Micro lock
I just got this thing 17 inch incra positioner and I'm trying to set it up.
It says to center it to take a piece and cut through it ,then reverse it and use the micro stop and the find adjustment wheel to recenter it.
Here is the problem., I don't seem to have a micro lock position, I've lifted the locking bar ever so slightly but when I try and move the wheel there is serious resistance.
If I back it off just a hair it the handle falls like a rock and the fence moves too easily.
Help!

Set Carriage Clamp to Micro Adjust Position
Lower the carriage clamp to completely unclamp the carriage, then raise the carriage clamp to the center position. This center position for the carriage clamp softens the clamping pressure on the carriage to permit movement during micro adjusting.
Try lifting to the centre position. If it is too tight to move the micro adjust wheel follow the instructions for adjusting the clamping pressure. Those were the droids I was looking for.

What positioner model do you have, and do you have the manual for it?

I have a INCRA 17 inch and yes I have a manual, trouble is sometimes I have to read it over and over until I can get my head around it.
In this case I just couldn't find it. Finally I sat down with the manual and read it carefully and there it was on the last page (14 and 15) under the heading ADJUSTMENTS It said "adjusting the clamping pressure"
I loosened the Allen screw and pulled out what looked like a small white paper like shim about square about 1x1.
The kit comes with a couple of shims just for this. Package L-22 says clamping shims. Never saw it I swear.
Well I didn't know for sure if it needed to add shims or If I needed to take some out, so I removed the white shim that was in there, put it back together an wal la ! It works like a champ now. It said it was factory set when I got it but mine must have slipped by.
Hope this helps if someone else encounter it.
