    Default table saw jig combos?

I have been looking at the LS positioner jigs table saw combo packs, mighty impressive stuff.
Do you owners of this gear use it to its full potential or does it just become an expensive fence? The engineering and accuracy is very compelling, I am loving the look of it.
My other question is : buying locally or overseas?
I feel guilty going offshore and not supporting the local suppliers. It would be a mistake if it means loosing our local stores. I like nothing better than going through and checking out all the tools, going to in store demos (should be more and run on U Tube)

I have recently got the Incra tablesaw system with the router wonderfence pack. I was all geared up to buy just the tablesaw fence from Grahame (Professional Woodworkers Supplies) but as it turns out an engagement ring took a higher priority. Tim (Tameka's dad) is an ex-cabinet maker and took a great interest in the youtube vids I showed him on the Incra stuff. He arranged the rest of the family to chip in and get me the super system for xmas!!! (probably so he can come over and use it! lol)

I understand your dilemma in relation to the local vs overseas argument. Tim ended up placing the order with toolking in the usa. Personally I'd prefer to buy locally, but with the Australian dollar sitting where it is at the moment we ended up getting the super system delivered for less than the price of the basic system ex-delivery locally. I do try to support the local scene whenever I can, but when you have a price difference that is about 50% on an expensive item it becomes a bit harder. I try make up for this by buying all the ancillaries locally - kind of makes sense in my head!

The only issue we had with bringing in the item from overseas was that despite 2 emails and a phone call confirming the fact that we needed the metric version, we got sent the imperial version. Turned out that toolking don't stock the metric version, so it was dropped shipped direct from Incra. Incra somehow neglected to notice the big bold print on the bottom of the order form specifying metric. It is all good now though, they have sent the metric conversion kit to me at no charge, and I get to keep the imperial stuff too!

Now that the local vs overseas stuff is out of the way, on to your other questions... Yes it is an expensive fence, but it brings the realm of digital panel saw accuracy to the home tablesaw user. I am still yet to use the router fence as I have not quite decided on how to build the etension wing (will probably just end up buying one). Although I have to do metric to imperial calculations on the fly until the conversion kit shows up, the tablesaw fence itself it worth its weight in gold! I decided to give it a bit of a test when I needed to cut 7 strips of mdf at 90x600mm. I cut the stock to 600 first, then ripped it all piece by piece to 90. I engaged both front and rear fence clamps and used pressure against the fence varying from hardly any to as hard as I could. The fence did not move. All peices are exactly the same, standing them on end all next to each other and you cant feel the difference between the pieces. Even with my old biesemeyer fence it would have moved slightly under the pressure I usd for the last 2 pieces.

I use a lot of veneered mdf, so I don't have the luxury of fixing any cut issues with a thicknesser or jointer. I need my cuts to be 110% accurate, first time, preferably without stuffing around trying to find the exact mark. That is where the real benefit of the Incra system comes into play, its accuracy and repeatability are un-rivavled. So is it worth it? Yes!
