I'd like to convert our two car garage into a family room. At present the garage has brick piers ranging from 1300 apart to 2000 apart then 140x80 hardwood beams sit on these tied to the roof. The exterior is brick veneer and there is no lining inside the garage.

The garage floor is sunken 1 brick below the house slab level and there are no drainage holes through the brickwork.

I'd like to line the inside of the garage with gyprock and if possible raise the floor level with the rest of the house.

My concern is the waterproofing side of doing this. In regards to the DPC and sarking.

Is this conversion at all possible without major work to the outside brick work?

Thanks
Scott,
