Default draftsman or architect mornington peninsula

    Hi everyone,

we want to extend our house out and up and get it built to lockup then do rest ourselves.

can anyone recommend a draftsman/architect wh does small jobs on mornington peninsula?. Also a builder?

There seem to be plenty around but it would be good to get a recommendation.

    Alan

    David Norman - Architect (Rosebud/Dromana?)

What quality of builder are you after? Simon Streader (somewhere on the Southern Peninsula) does very good work.

Hi cava, thanks for your response. Basically we want someone first to do a sensible design and plan (lots of right angles) on a simple little house, then a builder to do a good tradesmanlike job, probably to lockup.

Have you worked with David Norman and Simon Streader?

    Hi Alan,

David Norman designed a house for us.

He recommended a number of builders whom we interviewed as well as others.

Simon Streader in our opine came out on top for build quality and someone that we could work with. As at this point we have not commenced the actual construction and cannot comment further. But we have seen his work and spoken to one (1) couple who used him - the quality was exceptional.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi cava,

    Thank you so much.

David Norman looks very good but I wonder if he would do such a small job as ours.

However I'll give him a call.

    Thanks for that, George.

We're in old Mt Martha, a bit inland.
