Have made an offer on a small house on a largish block. Plan on renting it out for at least 12 months but want to extend and renovate as our eventual retirement home.
AKAIK there are no permit issues or planning issues to prevent this..

My question is: How do we match the roof lines. I dont want a Colourbond roof on the extension cos the original house has concrete tiles. I see issues with meeting up and matching .., ridges, valleys and gutters. Maybe the solution is to remove the roof totally , retruss & gable and colourbond clad the whole lot.

Any advice? Of course if cash was not an issue I could knock the old house down and start over
