Footing type 1,2,3,4,5 for stumps
Hi Everyone,
I have some questions for stump footings.
I understand that a soil test will give you your site classification, and that this will determine your stump footing depth. What I don't understand is in AS1684.4 Table 3.1 Footing Classification there are 5 footing types, 1,2,3,4,5. These give me the size of the concrete pad, but what I don't get is how you work out your footing type?
I am guessing the footing type comes from the supported area?
1=0.045
2=0.090
3=0.120
4=0.180
5=0.180 (125 kpa)
I'm not sure how this is calculated, if there are any builders or building surveyors here, I would love to hear from them.
Cheers guy's.
Scott.
