Framing question re top plate
In a load bearing 2.4 m high stud wall, does the top (and/or bottom) plate (90 x 45) need to be continuous? If not, where are they best joined?
Second question: if the top plate is doubled, does the load (200 x 75) beam still need to be directly over a double stud? Does doubling the top plate alter the answer to the first question?
It's for a flat roof, and I'm in Victoria.
