Hi,
I see that the back of my gutters are rusting through. Seems to me that if it's rusted through on one side of my house, it'll be rusting on the other sides. It's a 1960s house...

OK, so I'll have to do something about it.

I know what gutters do but why do I need them? They seem to be more trouble than they are worth (not cheap either).

My shed has no gutters and in the wet season the water just pours off the roof. Sure it makes a bit of a channel where the run-off hits the ground - but no big trench...

Is there something else that gutters do? Some absolutely, must have reason that they are needed?

Thanks, Norm
