How does one work out if it is or not?

We've got this wall with a big opening in it and want to get rid of it to open the place up a bit.

I think it used to be the external wall at some point, and the dining/lounge areas have been added on.

The wall running down the corridor is the center of the house and is in line with the roof apex.

The roof on this side of the wall I wanna remove is stepped down, which again makes me think this part of the house has been added on later

Note the sagging door frame...

It's always been like that, and I think that when we had some of the centre stumps replaced under that long wall, they cranked it up a bit much and actually raised the wall a bit, which might have made it worse.

Probably hard to establish from this vague description, but I was under the impression that these old houses only had the center wall as load bearing....?

And while that may or may not be the case I'm sure it's different from house to house too....
