Hi guys,
has anyone attempted thin partition walls using multiple layers of ply or mdf?

I have a very tight layout and every mm counts and not a huge requirement for sound insulation (and figure 3 layers of 16mm MDF is probably better than 70mm stud with 10mm PB either side and insulation) so looking to use 3 layers of 16mm mdf or ply instead of a normal stud wall construction.

my only concern is bowing over time but looking to stiffen it with a T alloy section both vertical and horizontal to laminate the layers together. No services required in the walls in question although doors will be hung off them. figure if my hinges fix through the T section that caps off each edge of the opening through into the spine of the sheet it should hold no drama.

anything i might not have thought of?

oh, and wall finish is painted mdf with exposed joints. no PB, although you could line PB and set over the top..

Cheers
