Hi All

Thanks for a really informative forum.

I've got an older semi in Maroubra that dates from the 1960's. It's double brick and has small space under the wooden stumped sub-floor, about 30 cms deep at it's deepest point. At some point in the hopefully not too distant future, we'll be looking to reno the back of the house, opening it up and extending outwards. The question that I have is whether it makes sense to remove the existing timber floor, use the building rubble from the demolition to pack underneath the sub-floor, and pour concrete over this to make a slab onto which we can tile?

Is this feasible? Any issues with structural integrity of the walls supporting the weight?
