I am in the process of fitting an infill slab under my house, I had a Civil engineer do a site inspection and everything seems to be OK. I am builing a new section and retrofitting an old section (joining) which requires some work. The biggest take away was plastic under the new slab, but light on detail on how to retrofit for termites in the old section except leave the brickwork as it is and render it and paint or just paint the brickwork. i am not sure on what the BCA/council might think about this? If I build internal walls with a cavity I have no insurance of the pests wont come in except for perimeter inspections. i dont know of how to protect against existing brickwall or existing brick internal wall if i hide these behind infill framed gyprock walls.
