    Default Bathroom Bearers and Joists

    I have gutted a bathroom (approx 3000 x 2000) including removing suspended slab floor

    I am putting in a new floor and am using second hand 100 x 70 hardwood from a previous demo as the bearers and joists (I have enough even though it may be overkill for joists)

    I am going to tile using approx 6" square tiles

    Questions
    what is the max span for bearers and joists using this size timber?

    yellow tongue or red tongue structa floor or compressed fibro?

    Thank you
    John

    gday metaljar

    your bearers & joists are seasoned, so your timber's capability will be greater than these spans -

    assuming floor load width of 1500; single or upper storey -

    100x75 single span 1400 canti 400; continuous span 1900 canti 500 (sheet roof)

    100x75 single span 1300 canti 300; continuous span 1700 canti 500 (tile roof)

    joists - floor load width of 1500:

    100x50 300 centres -
    single span 2000, continuous 2600 (sheet roof); single span 1700, continuous 2200 (tile roof);

    100x50 450 centres -
    single span 1700, continuous 2200 (sheet roof); single span 1500, continuous 1900 (tile roof);

    100x50 600 centres -
    single span 1500, continuous 2000 (sheet roof); single span 1300, continuous 1600 (tile roof);
