Default Joists, Stirrups and Structural Pine

Hi All - looking at my options for my ground level deck.

    I have 85 x 19 Reeded Jarrah Decking.

I have looked at the option of using steel joists - but I think this will be too expensive.

I was going to have my joists at 450mm apart.

What I don't know is the size of the sturctural pine is that I need (i.e is 90 x 45 sufficient) and also how far apart the stirrups need to be.

I was just going to concrete in the stirrups.

By stirrups - I think I mean bearers. They are metal brackets you put the joists into and then concrete in.

if you use 100x50x3 gal steel RHS joists you'll be able to use 1800 spacings between stirrups.
if you use 90x45 treated pine you'll only be able to use 1500 spacings between stirrups.
Spacing between the joists is the same for both....comes down to how many holes you want to dig and how much concrete you want to use
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.
