Hi all
I have this yet uncovered parquet floor it is of the narrow strips kind shaped in squares it is sitting on concrete and an old tired carpet on top.
Looks like it had been nailed to the concrete
I want to remove the carpet and sand to strip the colour and give it a new lease of life the parquet may be damaged in some parts so I may have to replace parts of it.

As you can foretell questions arise out of this exercise.but I have also additional concerns as my wife is ill I have to be reasonable with my renovations even though she encorages me to do so.

As it is the hallway that first be treated and the carpet looks horrible Shall I proceed with sanding and then what leave the floor untouched? coat of floor polish water base poly coating may be too smelly?
What's your advise or sugestions please?
Thanks
