Hi guys / gals,
Im planning on building a timber screen shortly to screen off two of my water tanks from our outdoor entertainment area. When I put the pavers down, I concreted in two koppers logs, approximately 2000mm apart.

I was considering using 19 x 90 kwila/merbau with no more that 19mm between each length of timber attached horizontally between the two koppers logs. I think this span may be a little too great.

Option 1 - Build a frame to suit and attach the boards to the frame.

Option 2 - I was considering attaching a vertical piece of 90 x 19 kwila/merbau in the middle of the screen on the tank side to effectively tie all the boards together. I thought this should eliminate the boards moving independant to eachother, thus not needing to build a frame.

Bear in mind that I am mainly doing this now to sell the house. I dont want to do a crap job, hence me asking, but at the same time, time is of the essence. (I have a 5 bedroom home that needs a lick of paint inside, not to mention replacing some of the ceilings!!!)

Ive attached a dodgy photo to show what I have at the moment. Sorry about the quality, it was a crop of a much larger photo.

Thanks in advance
Steve
