240v outdoor recessed LED lighting - safe or not safe
My husband and I are building a large planter box out of besser block (soon to be rendered). I would like to install small recessed outdoor LED lights into the walls, however, one electrician recommended 240v lights and another electrician has now questioned my choice of 240v outdoor lights due to safety. I am becoming quite confused by the information I have been given and of course quite concerned.
As I mentioned before the walls have been constructed to contain soil and plants, hence we don't want any loose wiring (all must be contained in conduit). I know I can have the wiring for 12v lights also run through conduit, however, if I have 240v lights instead given the that conjuit will be buried waterproofed (along with the rest of the lining of the box) and watered over, is having 240v lighting potentially dangerous?
