Thread: Air conditioner for bulkhead

Hi Ronafios With my very basic knowedge of A/c units you may mean like a casette type unit ?and i think they are only ceiling mountedthey are really the only units i know of that are recessed into the roof but Im sure some Fridgeys will help you with replys, I use to work with a bloke who purchased air shifters that would transfer air from one room that was airconditioned to another that was not using inline fans and insulated ducts and vents and from all reports they worked!which i guess is a cheaper alternative than ducted he said they work alot betterl in winter becuase obviously the hot air rises and is easier to transfer from room to room

There are some pretty looking splitties out there that may compliment your house, failing that a basic single space ducted system may be the go with bulkhead diffusers. It really depends on your budget.

You could go evaporative but you won't be completely happy. I never was with my old one.

There are a few companies that make bulkhead units, the most common use for the is highrise apartments or Hotels but they are also used in domestic applications.

Daikin have the FDX range but they only go up to a 6KW, These u nits are smaller enough to fit above a wardrobe. The units have a lower static pressure than normal ducted units and are designed to either go staright onto a diffuser or have very short flex runs, also to save space it is possible to seal your bulk head and use this as the return air space with the R/A grilles place staight into the bulkhead.

With out knowing more inforamation it's hard to tell you what is sutible for your application.
