Hi

I have a large trench 30 metres from the shed to the house site, I want to fill in trench asap.

Its for the house electrical cable.

I have asked my sparkie to tell me cable size required so I can place cable in said trench to cover, that was a 4 weeks ago and still no answer.

I have asked another sparkie to assist but he cannot look at it for 2 weeks.

The connection would all be done by the sparkie but that would over a year away.

So once again your assistance would be appreciated.

Trying to determine cable size from the shed to my house site.

The main copper wires coming from the main meter is 8.1mm in diameter that is the exposed copper [around 53mm2 I think], there are two cables.

The length is 90 metres from the main meter board to the shed.

Volts coming into the shed is around 249/250.

When drawing about 80 amps the volts drop to around 229.

Anyway the electrical cable feeding the sub-board in the shed is 4mm in diameter (13.3mm2) [there is a connector that connects the wire size 8mm to 4mm].

Now the distance from the shed sub-board to the house sub-board is approx 30 metres.

Power demands on the small 3 bedroom house, hmm not sure.

Electric oven and maybe electric stove.

Water pump, Air con, normal lights, TV, etc.

So finally my question what cable size do I require from the shed to the house?

Many Thanks

Pulpo
