Help with clearing blockage
Hi all
My daughter and her partner have a small problem and I'm looking for ideas from the collective wisdom here!
They have a new house and had a concretor come to do the driveway and paths. While driving the stakes for the formwork in he managed to hit the waterpipe coming into the house! He turned off the water, told my daughter of the drama and called a plumber, who repaired the pipe. First use of the water was her filling the washing machine, which ran brown and dirty for a while but then cleared, but at reduced pressure. The pressure is fine everywhere else except the taps in the laundry, which have the washing machine outlets and the taps over the sink. They've checked the cold water hose and filter washers on the machine and outlet and they're clear.
My thinking is that there's an obstruction in the line in that area. The plan is to turn off the water and remove the tap bodies to check for any obvious blockages behind the washers, but given that both taps are running slow the blockage is further up.
Thought #2 is that there's an airbubble in the system. The water seems to come from the roof rather than in through the walls from outside as I can't see anything on that outside wall, and the copper tube for the outside back tap comes down the wall from the eaves.
Suggestions?
