Hello again everyone

I just got this quote back for the instillation of an instantaneous gas hot water unit and a split system air conditioner... I am not sure I believe my eyes.

If anyone is familiar with these kind of jobs, I would really appreciate some feedback as to whether or not this is good value or even accurate at all.

Quote is as follows...

HOT WATER UNIT

Install external instantaneous WHS gas: $664
Install weather proof power point external: $177
Install hot water controllers wired in: $163
New switch board / up-grade: $680
Safety switch - Residual circuit device: $270

TOTAL inc GST: $2150

SPLIT SYSTEM AIRCON
Installation only split system 1.5-6kw: $766
In wall condensation pipe-work: $345
Extra flow/return pipe-work: $680
Install wall brackets: $227
Compliance certificate - plumbing: $37
Compliance certificate - electrical: $37

TOTAL: $2301

Can this seriously be right? 680 + 270 seems extremely high for a new breaker box when ive had the same quoted for only $550 by a local electrician.

"In wall condensation pipe-work" at nearly $350 is simply drilling a small hole through 4 sheets of plasterboard and fixing a length of PVC piping through & along about 3 meters of wall - something I could do in about 30 mins for under $10 of material.

All this cost just for instillation, it seems a little unreal to me, and I hope I am right :oo:
