Hi All

I have read everything i can find on this, and have sought several professional opinion, all of which have differed and now im pretty confused.......

We have a zincalume roof house, half of the inside is a cathedral or gabled roof (not sure of the correct term, the roof trusses are exposed on the inside, pine boards are laid on the top of these and follow the pitch of the roof (ie on the top of the whole truss), the other half of the house where the bedrooms bathroom etc are has a normal ceiling.

We are getting the roof replaced due to some tennis ball size hail, and are considering adding some insulation while this is being done.

Currently there are bats between the pine in the cathedral section and the zincalume, and bats over most of the ceiling above the bedrooms etc.

Is it worth putting 55mm anticon under the whole roofing area, if so do we need bats above the cathedral section? I would assume that the more the better.

Do bats harbour nasties if they have been getting wet from leaks in the roof?

The house has verandahs all round, one person said anticon is good in these areas, mainly to quieten the rain sound which can be quite loud (though admittedly for the expense im not sure that this minor inconvenience would be worth it). Has anyone put anticon on verandahs and what did you think. (Mrs doesnt like the idea as she thinks it would look crap)

Any assistance would be appreciated.
