Minimum duct size
I am in the throws of replacing the downstairs ceiling of our 2 storey house. At some stage Air Con is likely and if possible I want to run the ducting through before I put up the new downstairs ceiling.
One run will need to go down through an upstairs built in wardrobe (to get from the upper ceiling unit to downstarirs) but between levels this will need to go between two floor joists which are only 200mm apart.
I assume that limits the size of the ducting I can use to 200mm diameter - is that viable? This is for our bedroom and (if zoned) would be a separate, stand alone zone to the rest of the house. Size is 28sq mtrs.
Does the size of this ducting affect the size that can be used elsewhere ? Will it affect the balance or, as it will be a separate zone does that not matter?
No experience with A/c so any words of wisdom appreciated. Cheers, Ron
