Guys, in a previous post, many moons ago I wrote about problems I was having with my RCD tripping at random times. Attempting to fault find what it was etc.

Recently I had a guy install a Hager 63A 4 Pole RCD to replace the old 40A RCD. My mains are 63A so I'm not sure if that;s a step in the right direction or not??? But at least its a new switch - I guess the old one was approaching 20 years of age.

The electrician noted that I had my entire board going through the RCD - lights included. When he put in the new one - he didn't change the configuration.

He mentioned that maybe I should look at some of the new combos as a way of not blacking out the entire house and also narrowing down the source of any future problems.

My question is this. Is it possible to connect these combo's by replacing an existing power circuit so an earth leakage fault will trip the RCD/MCB but not the centra RCD - assuming that they are all 30 ma trips?

The house is 3 phase 63A.
