Team,

Just started renovation of a 1890s home, kitchen ripped out for replacement and going reasonably well; however, the modern addition - a downstairs laundry is causing me grief.

The Sanitop poo pump has died - no washing mashine or second loo. My research indicates that the Sani- top should not be hooked up to both toilet and washing machine/trough because the washing mashine water causes foam which causes cavitation which causes motor burn out. Is there a system rated for both?

My conversation with Aani-flow also indicates that the delivery head (3m in my case) should be run in 20mm. Mine is 20mm for 1.5m then 50mm for 1.5m where it does a 90 horizontal turn into 75mm and finally 100mm. Is the 50mm likely to have caused excess pressure on the pump and prematurely killed it?

Additionally, given this pump should run in short bursts should there also be a drop (vertical) into the 100mm pipe or at least an S bend?

Finally, if there is no such animal as a poo pump and grey water pump combined, what system should I be looking at to serve both; Sani-flow or some other brand?

Cheers in advance

Sparky!
