Default Acheiving Paint Coverage over various coloured undercoat / Painting technique

    Greetings,

As per attached pics, Iam painting a wooden picket fence.

The fence is roughly 4years old, with a existing colour scheme of maroon posts and cream pickets.

Pickets were sanded back, 180 grit and then 3x coated with an acrylic topcoat, over the existing generally good condition previous cream topcoat.

Before i moved straight to the post colouring, I had some exposed timber on the bottom boards from whipper snipper damage, when the lawn was right up against the fence. I have used Haymes TriCoat (acrylic) to coat the exposed timber parts whilst leaving other sections in their orginal maroon topcoat. Please see images.

Iam going to paint the maroon posts/bottom boards in colourbond woodland grey. Iam concerned though that the coverage will be patchy due to my leaving white&maroon patches everywhere.

    Q1
will after 3 coats, the woodland grey be able to uniformly cover the maroon/white undercoats?

    Q2
Should i simply paint the rest of the maroon with white before proceeding to the grey?

    Thanks

woodland grey will cover with 2 coatings ... if you want to put a 3rd coat then just paint over the primed areas first then 2 coatings

i dont know why they call it woodland grey because it has a greenish tinge to it
